I first became acquainted with Harry while listening to an interview on Radio National Australia that was discussing aspects of house design for those people who had access challenges. Harry Sprintz is an architect with a close personal experience in the solution of disability access problems, in the course of which he has acquired a rich fund of many anecdotes that relate to the essentially `human’ side of this architectural activity. One of these is, “The most important building in the world is a person’s home; it therefore must both work well and be a source of pleasure to the owner". This mantra guides Harry’s approach to work & life; accessibility in all it’s forms is his passion.

Preparation of a range of design ‘solutions’ and related costings in the format of ‘Expert Opinions’ for accessible living needs in support of a legally driven claim to the NSW Supreme Court for compensation for significant birth damage sustained by Mr & Mrs Barbaro’s son, Guiseppi. Design of the war memorial to the RAE Vietnam veterans known as the ‘TUNNEL RATS’ at the School of Military Engineering, Steele Barracks, Holsworthy NSW, for which I am the honorary architect.

A.C. Hatrick Pty Ltd (Jeff Thompson, Chief Engineer)

Major refurbishment and fit-out of three story industrial building in Botany for the purpose of providing high technology chemical laboratories and technical/administrative support facilities (completed cost $4.2m) plus the design of a PVA plant in Ho Chi Mihn City, Socialist Republic of Vietnam (completed cost of $2.1m).

Public Service Employees Credit Union (ACT) contact, Ray Walker former manager

Major ‘flagship’ building at Green Square in Kingston ACT providing a ground floor level Credit Union customer retail outlet, including support offices and staff facilities & arcade related retail shops together with upper floor level rental offices (Completed cost of $1.6m). Additionally, four separate credit Union retail outlets in ACT shopping centres at an average fit-out cost of $150,000.00. During the period 1982 to 1990 I completed the following similar Credit Union facilities in ACT shopping centres for the, Defence Credit Union (One project) Canberra United Credit Union (Six projects) CPS Credit Union (one project) and the University Credit Union at ANU (one project).

Conversion of large family residence in Terrey Hills NSW to provide fully wheelchair accessible and independently accessed ground floor accommodation for Dr Simon & Mrs Fiona Darcy with separate upper floor level accommodation for Mr & Mrs Darcy (Snr) Current cost $.4m.

Completion of the interior renovation and fit-out of the ‘Walker Cinema’ North Sydney (current cost $.1.2m) plus the preparation of three cinema projects one in Balmain & two in the ACT together with a cinema bookshop in Canberra (all at an approx total cost value of $3.7m).

Three retirement facilities, One at Hunters Hill for the Marist Order, One for the Victory Church at CherryBrook & one for Southern Cross Care (ACT) at Caves Beach NSW , for which I was commissioned to provide ‘Access Reports’ in support of the DA & CC processes.
